Celebrating 17 Years of RTR

Ride the River is OFLC Student Ministries’ largest event, gathering members of our church community and beyond for fun, exercise, and the beauty of the outdoors for the past sixteen years. At RTR, families and individuals of all ages ride bikes, walk, and run together along the South Platte River in support of Student Ministries, student mission trips, and ministries and organizations chosen by students to sponsor through this fundraiser.

About This Year’s RTR

Come to the Denver Seminary to support our students on June 15 by running or walking our 5K or riding your bike at the 6 mile family ride, 18-mile intermediate ride, or 32-mile challenge ride on the Mary Carter Greenway Trail. Everyone who registers by May 12 will receive complimentary Ride the River T-shirts, and all participants will automatically be put in the running for great prizes! Following your ride or run, join us at the Seminary chapel for our Ride the River celebration event, featuring plenty of food, live music, fellowship, prize drawings, and more. This is a fun and easy way to support our students while connecting with others in our church community.

Supporting OFLC Student Ministries

This year, we look forward to sending around 20 students and adults to Tegucigalpa and La Paz, Honduras. Here, they'll be serving in local Lutheran churches to help meet the needs of the congregations and their communities. In addition, an approximate $5,000 of our net fundraising income from RTR will be donated directly to the Lutheran Church of Honduras! Over the past several years, Our Father has helped support the Lutheran Church of Honduras’s work of spreading the Gospel in La Paz and Tegucigalpa, and our students are eager to provide the Church with more financial support in addition to their service this summer.
