at OFLC this Fall

The first of our three strategic environments, Gather in Worship is the life of our church, as we come to hear God's Word and partake in His Sacraments. In spite of what seemed like an ever changing landscape of how we worshiped over the past year and a half, we remain faithful to proclaiming Biblical truth. This fall, we move to familiar and committed worship.

New Worship Times

Saturdays 4pm Traditional Worship 
Sundays 8am Traditional + 10:45am Contemporary 
+ Sunday Worship also available via Livestream 

Communion will take a variety of options for distribution. We are also transitioning to partaking communion on the first, third, and fifth Sundays of the month.
+ Pre-packaged bread and wine
+ Wafer and individual cup

Grow in Faith, brings us together in God's Word, through adult, teen and kid discipleship. Being in God's Word is an integral and vital part of the life of a Christian. We are returning to our rhythm of digesting God's Word together with a variety of education opportunities.

We’ve enjoyed some time together between Sunday services at Pop Up Patio this summer after living a more isolated lifestyle for over a year than most of us ever had before March 2020. Let’s continue the conversation in a slightly more focused and intimate way over, through and around Scripture together. We’ll examine the relationship of the Trinity and explore together what it means to be made in God’s image to need one another.

St. Paul wrote Ephesians to Gentile Christians (2:11, 3:1) living in a world where evil spiritual forces were in the heavenly places (2:2, 6:12) reminding them of God's love (2:4-5) and encouraging them to remain in their faith.

Our ministry theme for the 2021-2022 year is A New Morning from Lamentations 3:22-23: “The steadfast love of the LORD never ceases; His mercies never come to an end; they are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.” Lamentations and Jeremiah give us perseverance in the midst of trials and suffering, hope in hopeless situations and a story of God’s faithfulness to His people in history, and today.

Taught by Pastor Scott Abel / Community Room / Begins Sept 19

This introductory class about the God who comes down to us gives you an opportunity to explore life and its meaning from a Lutheran Christian perspective. It is a place to ask questions about the chief teachings of the Christian Faith as they are believed, confessed and taught in the Lutheran Church. The four week class is followed by an optional New Member Orientation on October 17.

When you arrive on campus, proceed to the lower level to the check in kiosk located between the Great Room and Community Room. Come meet your volunteer leaders and learn more about what's in store for your child this fall.

During worship services, we are returning to live kids messages in the front of the sanctuary.

Live God's Mission, the third of our strategic environments, helps empower and send Christians on mission both near and far. As we approach the fall, there will be more and more opportunities to serve, give, and live God's mission right in your own local community, or on a short term mission trip.
